Overview
Huayu's HYC series of MPPT Charge Controller adopt the advanced MPPT control algorithm, and can achieve more than 99.5% tracking efficiency and minimize the maximum power point loss rate and time to get more energy to your battery bank. The controllers are equipped with comprehensive electronic protections to ensure the solar system is more reliable and durable, and they can be widely used for RV, household systems, field monitoring, and many other applications.
Product Highlights
- Advanced MPPT
With advanced MPPT technology, the controller own wider MPPT working voltage range, ultra-fast tracking speed and guaranteed tracking efficiency no less than 99.5%, and minimize the MPPT loss rate and loss time.
- 12V/24V System Voltage Automatically Detect
The controller support both 12V and 24V systems and detect 12V or 24V DC system voltages once connected to a Lead-acid (Sealed/Gel/Flooded) or Lithium (LiFePO4/Li(NiCoMn)O2) battery.
- Comprehensive System Protection
Equipped with multiple and complete software and hardware protection, including reverse polarity, battery overcharging, battery over-discharging, overload, over-current, short-circuiting, and reverse current, etc.
- Self-adaptive Three-stage Charging
The controller owns a self-adaptive three-stage charging mode based on a digital control circuit. It can effectively prolong the battery lifespan and significantly improve the system's performance.
-
Multiple Load Work Modes
Connect DC appliances directly to the optional load terminals and monitor consumption or set up timer controls directly from the controller.
-
Remote Monitoring
Standard Modbus communication protocol based on the RS485 communication bus, making the communication distance longer, and support monitoring and setting the parameters via the APP or PC software.
In addition to the above outstanding advantages, this charger controller has a very competitive price advantage over the same type of charger controller, and can be widely used for RV, household systems, field monitoring, and many other applications.
Application Scenario

Q: What is a Solar Charge Controller and what is MPPT?
A: The Charge Controller takes the power made by the solar panels and transform the ‘solar panel power’ into a form of power that the batteries can use. MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking, and it relates to the solar cell itself. Each solar cell has a point at which the current (I) and voltage (V) output from the cell result in the maximum power output of the cell. MPPT ensures that you get the most power possible from your solar panels at any point in time. It is particularly effective during low light level conditions.
Q: What does 40A on MPPT charge controller mean?
A: 40A represents the max amount of amps the controller can output going into the batteries.
Q: How many watts can Huayu 40 amp charge controller handle?
A: This MPPT charge controller can work with standard off-grid 12/24V solar panels with high voltage or multiple panels with voltage up to 100V. And the maximum combined input solar power is 520W for a 12V battery system or 1040W for a 24V system. In particular, this controller will significantly increase the efficiency of a solar system where the solar panel voltage is much higher than the battery voltage.
Q: Would the unit be damaged if the battery polarity is reversed?
A: It is required to connect the battery first, if the battery polarity is reversed in this step, the controller has the protection and would not be damaged. But if the user connects the PV first and then, unfortunately, connects the battery polarity reversed, the controller would be damaged. This is caused by lithium battery characteristics.
Q: Why battery current is negative on the LCD?
A: Negative battery current means battery is discharging, this could happen when no PV or PV power is not enough to power the loads.
Q: Can I set Max. charge current?
A: No such feature, the only way to limit the Max. charge current is to connect fewer solar panels.
